Hostnine – Website Hosting: If you are looking for a reliable and cost-effective host with unlimited bandwidth, domain hosting and extremely fast support (email replies come back in less than 5 mins), then I use Hostnine which I recommend highly. If you’re UK-based, they have servers in Berkshire (server location is likely to be factor in Google rankings, though there are mixed opinions – but, why risk it?).

Heart Internet are an alternative, reliable and cost-effective hosting company, especially if your market is UK only.

They offer 24/7 UK support.

They offer good priced domains also.

AWeber - Email Marketing Made Easy

Aweber Autoresponder: An autoresponder sends automatic emails to your list, amongst other things via opt-in forms. It is essential to build your list if you are serious about earning income from internet marketing. Aweber is a great autoresponder and one of the market leaders, you can create lists, opt-in forms and newsletters and more. Good support (on the whole), about $18 pcm, but first month is free so you can try before you buy.

Google Keyword Tool – Keyword research is essential before you decide on the keywords for a site. It is usually best to select those which have a high volume yet not so much competition (ie no. of sites based on that keyword).

Wordstream: Another great keyword tool that’s free:

Google Analytics – Essential MUST-HAVE for monitoring traffic to your site. Requires a chunk of code to be added to your site.

Photo Bucket – Upload photos, videos, images for free, then just point your websites to the url in photo bucket. (Caveat: for me this site always seems to crash here and there, but you get there in the end)

Free Stock Images – Yup, totally free to use great images for your websites and newsletters. Only catch is you have to become their Facebook fan – no probs, right? Daily limit.

Gravatar – Create your own universal Gravatar (the small icon that appears against comments etc).

Favicon Generator – Create your own Favicon (the little pic to the left of your tab at the top of the window).

Pay-Per-Click Networks:

When people consider pay-per-click advertising, they tend to think of Google Adwords because it generates the most traffic. Whilst this is true, there are so many other options which are both cheaper and easier to get approved with. Below are the most popular ones and certainly Facebook Ads are highly recommended as they generate a great deal of traffic. Yahoo and Microsoft are good too.

Google Adwords

Bidvertiser

Microsoft Ad Center

Yahoo Search Marketing

A good collection of useful resources. It will definitely help many.
I have two friendly suggestions:
Whenever you are using pic and text as in Aweber Autoresponder above, please put the text in a block, say div or p, and float it left so that it gets aligned to the right of the pic rather than below.
Secondly, your Signature Creator link is not working. Did you mean favicon generator? Favicon and Signature are two different issues.
Thanks!

Subrato, your comment did get me looking at the nitty gritty of CSS, but although I’m a self-confessed she-nerd I couldn’t however get div or p to work….not sure why, so I have used align in the image tag, which for now is fine. The sig and favicon are sorted – both were there, just a few CSS bits missing! :) Thanks for your suggestions, most valuable. Btw, your blog is great, love the look and feel, and fabulous content for people.

Hey Gary, thanks for visiting. Yes I built most of it myself although I had a lil help from a Thesis Theme programmer for some tricky bits :) Time is of the essence! Aweber and Hostnine – I’m very happy with them, both have super fast support, in fact Hostnine always respond within 3-4 minutes, sometimes within less than a minute! Scary! :)
