Here’s a message from Rick Archer, of the ‘Buddha at the Gas Pump.’
(Now, do you think the Buddha would have needed gas….you see, some things need some thinking about before choosing a domain name….just kidding, Rick…) ** (see below)
Ok, I say…get voting! This is what makes TV worth watching…
Rick says:
As you may know, Oprah Winfrey is looking for what she calls “The Next Big Network Star”. I’ve submitted an audition video, and the concept of my show is as follows:
People everywhere are undergoing a shift to an Awakened state of consciousness which is transforming their understanding of themselves and the world. For some, this shift has been abrupt and dramatic. For others, it has been so gradual that they may not have realized it has occurred. Such shifts, or “awakenings,†are not new: Christ spoke of the “Kingdom of Heaven within,†Buddhists speak of Nirvana, Zen masters of Satori, Hindus of Moksha, but these traditions generally regard these states as rare and difficult to attain. Many people therefore find it hard to believe that apparently ordinary friends and neighbors might be experiencing something extraordinary. Maybe they expect Enlightenment to look as remarkable on the outside as it is reputed to be on the inside. This show will attempt to dispel skepticism by week after week, allowing otherwise ordinary people to relate their experience of spiritual awakening. This experience is contagious, as many of listeners will soon discover!
If you like the concept, please vote for me! Click here to watch the video and vote. It’s permissible to vote multiple times, but I think it doesn’t work to do it in rapid succession. So if you feel motivated to vote more than once, please bookmark the page and set yourself a reminder to vote every few hours. Or contact rick@batgap.com and I’ll put you on a daily reminder list.
Whatever awakens awakening on this planet, I say – rock and roll. After all, what would you rather watch on TV – something like this, or The Bill???
(For anyone who is not UK based, don’t worry about the Bill, you have just the same on your own TV set, they’re called mindless TV shows. Ok, so if anyone who is involved in The Bill happens to be reading this, it’s not personal.)
** Rick tells me this is what is behind the “Buddha at the Gas Pump”: “Buddha at the Gas Pump” is intended to be a humorous, perhaps ironic juxtaposition of the cosmic and the mundane, but the implication is that many people enjoying levels of consciousness that were once thought extraordinary, can now be found everywhere, in ordinary circumstances.
I think this is right on for this day and age.
In fact,it wasn’t long ago, I heard about someone having an intense ‘Kundalini awakening’ experience up a ladder in a factory whilst at work. He’d never even given spirituality or awakening any thought at all in his whole life. Suffice to say it happened for a second time, and proceeded to turn his life upside down (not whilst literally on the ladder mind you) and now he’s a speaker and general spiritual person of sorts…So the moral of this little story is that next time you’re up a ladder, watch out, your kundalini may be about! Oh, but hold on to those bars ok…
And get voting….an enlightenment show just rocks!
